Manager – Bradley Mauger esq.01963 442790.

The Haynes International Motor Museum Workshop was established in the 1980s, initially only working on the Museum vehicles.  Twenty five plus years later the Workshop now has a highly experienced team of staff working on veteran, vintage, classic and modern vehicles for both the Museum and a national/international customer base.

Restoration work has always been an integral part of the Workshop, indeed many of the vehicles in the Museum are examples of past projects.  Over the years customer vehicles have also been recipients of the exceptional and acute attention to detail that is the trade mark of our Restoration Centre staff.

Auto Restorations

52 Stewart St
Christchurch
New Zealand
8011

Auto Restorations Ltd was started in 1973 by three old-car collectors who wanted to employ an expert tradesman to do panel work on their cars. That original employee, Alan Stanton, was set up in small premises and began work. Soon, other owners of cherished cars showed interest in having work done and the business began to expand to meet the demand to the point where it outgrew its premises and now, after three moves to bigger and better premises each time, it employs 26 people.

Pictures of projects

Auto Restorations has never specialised in a particular make of car but we do find that our customers send us a lot of French and Italian cars for restoration. Alfa Romeos, Bugattis, Delages, Delahayes, Ferraris, Maseratis and Talbot Lagos are usually represented in our workshops, but makes such as Arrol-Johnston, Aston Martin, Bentley, Cadillac, Delaunay-Belleville, Hispano-Suiza, Jaguar, OSCA, Packard, Pierce Arrow, Rolls Royce, Riley, Stutz, Shelby Mustang and Sunbeam have also been restored.

Founded in 1999, CKL Developments has grown into the worlds leading specialist in Jaguar Sports and Racing Cars of the 1950’s and ’60’s.

Beginning

After 25 years as Managing Director at Lynx, Chris Keith-Lucas left in 1999 to set up CKL Developments Ltd. From the start, Chris attracted a loyal customer base of people who value the knowledge, integrity and attention to detail that still characterise the work of CKL today.

Growing

Starting modestly in a barn near Battle in East Sussex, CKL’s growing reputation brought more and more business, and with an increasing workforce eventually Chris and Melvin were forced to look for more space and investment. With the help and input of car collector and historic racer Stefan Ziegler, CKL moved into it’s current, purpose built premises in 2011.

Today

With sixteen thousand square feet of space and state of the art facilities, CKL is second to none in our ability to undertake all areas of restoration and race preparation work. Our global reputation is based on getting the details right, whether it’s a simple service job, a complete restoration project involving extensive research or the development of a race-winning car.
